The Cabin In The Woods was one of those films that took me a bit to actually realize how damn smart the film itself actually is. With my first watch, I actually felt kind of bored with it; not truly understanding it. However, after re-watching it and actually watching certain cues, and things characters did, I felt that the film was actually a lot smarter than it let on; hinting at older horror films, classic situations with classic typecast characters [such as the hot babe, the stoner, the jock, etc]. What I also liked about The Cabin In The Woods was the fact that the 'monster', wasn't technically one big evil thing but in fact; a big collaboration of different monsters [and in most cases- the 'monsters' were actually the people around them].
[writer's note; in case you haven't seen the film, I can assure you- this is "the stoner", not the "hot babe". Your welcome, internet..]

But the real question here is would you ever want to experience what the people in The Cabin In The Woods did? What would you do in that situation? Well, thanks to Universal Orlando and their Halloween Horror Nights, you can actually test your luck! Although creating an amusement park ride on a blockbuster film is nothing we haven't seen before, horror
movies [especially bloody/gory films like 'Cabin In The Woods'] are usually not the first choice on their minds [Although fun fact: in Thorpe Park, UK; there is actually a roller coaster which is called "SAW- THE RIDE" see picture below for details.] when it comes to these kinds of
attractions, & this time around, they’ll be showing us their newest attraction with a what they call a 'face-to-face experience with The Cabin In The Woods.'
[Here's that Screenshot of SAW- THE RIDE in Thorpe Park, UK. According to their official site; 'Riders will be fired through a gauntlet of twisted
metal then dragged up 100ft before being dropped through sharp rotating
blades.']

However, let's get back to what we're really talking about on this post, and save SAW- THE RIDE for another day. Employees of Universal Orlando mentioned the following about their new attraction:
"..we are building the cabin completely. You’re going to walk through a forest to get there. You’re going into the cabin. You’re going to go into the cube cells. We’re literally taking everything we can in the film and giving you a kind of best-of montage of the film with this kind of linking story. You’re going to be in the control room when merman attacks."
Sadly, they also mentioned that it WILL NOT be a permanent addition to the park, despite all the trouble
they’re going through to set it up, put it together and get it ready for the horror fans. It’s only around for their famous Halloween
Horror Nights, which therefore means that it's only around from September 20th to November 2nd 2013 to actually be a part of this awesome sounding attraction. [which kind of sucks, considering I'm in Canada; plus I feel work wouldn't appreciate hearing I'm leaving for a week for a ride..]
So what do you think about a horror themed attraction ride? and what were your thoughts on The Cabin In The Woods- the film itself?
