NEW 30 question horror challenge! [PART4: FINALE]

At last, we are at the final chapter of this NEW horror challenge. In this edition, I will be concluding the challenge with questions #20 to #30. When finished this segment of the challenge, the regular posts will resume as they used to. Now onto the FINAL 10 questions!

———————————————————————————–

# 21 - Your favorite medical horror film
http://www.geekyuniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/re-animator-1.jpg

I won't lie, when I first saw Re-Animator, I didn't know quite what to feel about the film. I expected a scary film; enough to turn me away from hospitals/doctors. Instead, I got something more- an awesome film, with Jeffrey Combs being just as insane as I hoped.

———————————————————————————–

# 22 - Your favorite horror themed TV show
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR-y17kKwljpeN6T8yuMoeCloC5cnDYb0o6m0B54TSlZ6bFiwF0qbpBAlqQL93x1oV-cgpHobVStJv4lZtVsR-sZjgCPPJJV0ZOyxPfTAsEZ0SlTC4x3Ei8XCK9saFS4P6oAbHAa-VSNan/s1600/o-BLOODY-FACE-AMERICAN-HORROR-STORY-facebook.jpg

For those who couldn't already tell, the above picture is BloodyFace from [season2] of American Horror Story; which is the horror themed TV show I've chosen for this list. The show is an anthology, where every season is different. We've had a haunted house[season1], an insane asylum [which is where BloodyFace is from], and a Coven of witches[season3]- which I need to start. immediately.

 # 23 - Your favorite made for TV horror film

http://bmoviemadness.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/woman-in-black3.jpg

The Woman In Black from 1989 doesn't get the praise it deserves. I mean, sure- it isn't the half decent remake with Harry Potter.. I mean, Daniel Radcliffe, but it's still a fascinating watch. I feel like the ending in the remake was changed though, when I think about it.

———————————————————————————–

# 24 - Horror film in which you prefer the edited version over the director’s cut
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdOdIeGeG1_wc6Wm8ybo0lteqehKhuhyDYIGyRLkTpeipQp0ANkwrnFq-EdOn5BqbKJqOuewXDLYa8835etqg4kgIAuJzI3SmTNcmU7KzgAWL4L_5cuaRNGKpn2QViqu4gScRlgZKe2ajS/s1600/b.jpg

I like Dawn Of The Dead, I love the original cut, but at times, it feels way too fucking long, and I think that's the only reason, I prefer the edited down version. The film is a masterpiece either way. Like zombies? go and check this film out ASAP!

———————————————————————————–

# 25 - A horror film that you used to hate, but now like

I hope you like cheesy movies, because the Puppetmaster series are some of the cheesiest things I've ever watched. This was actually the reason I didn't like the films at first: they were way too ridiculous! But after continuing the series [there's 9 of them total] I found that although they get progressively worse, it's what makes them enjoyable.. not to mention Blade is an fucking bad-ass! [as seen above]

———————————————————————————–

# 26 - Your favorite horror film to watch as a child
http://finalgirls.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/final.jpg

Although it used to scare me, like most horror films did when I was younger; Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors was [and still is] my favorite chapter of the Freddy Krueger series.. I promise, it's not just because of Patricia Arquette.

———————————————————————————–

# 27 - Your favorite guilty pleasure horror film
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WggPPdHCqvs/T5ORMmHdP6I/AAAAAAAADW8/IL0TPHHpijs/s1600/original.jpg
Another film that's a given on this list is one of my favorite films of the past few years, if not one of my all time favorites: The Cabin In The Woods.. Richard Jenkins yelling "Fuck You!" to a bunch of 9 year old girls [even if it's through a TV screen] has quickly become my favorite thing in a horror movie, if not cinematic history . [honorable mention: SAW and it's sequels]

———————————————————————————–

# 28 - Your favorite horror film that no one’s ever heard of
http://www.stfimages.com/loader/pictures/e05777cb88156a712ae46ec2d2a7f9c5.png

Oh, Leslie Vernon.. We your fans know you deserve your sequel/prequel, but not enough people know about you, so instead we got stuck with a fifth sequel to Wrong Turn.. ugh. okay. I've ranted on this before here, but Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon is a fantastic film that not a lot of people have heard of [and if you haven't, get on that!] it deserves it's prequel, because it needs to continue. that's all I'm saying; check it out- it's probably on Netflix..don't hold me to that last part though.

———————————————————————————–

# 29 - Your least favorite horror film of all time
http://karlails.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/a-nightmare-on-elm-street-13-4-10-kc.jpg

I really don't want to get into a huge heated complaint here, so I'll make this one quick - this remake that was willing to call itself A Nightmare On Elm Street was terrible. I love Jackie Earle Haley, and in no way is this his fault, but Freddy is a burn victim.. not a wet fish! [at least that's what I see..] How this movie won the people's choice award for 'best horror movie' [of it's year] is beyond me. [author's tip: if you're a fan of the original and haven't seen this remake. just don't. you're welcome]

 ———————————————————————————–

# 30 - Your favorite horror film of all time

http://www.thatfilmguy.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/The-Evil-Dead.jpg

Although I'm pretty sure it's already been said in this challenge, it's a fairly obvious choice: The Evil Dead by Sam Raimi with Bruce Campbell starring is easily my favorite horror film. I've seen it a bunch of times, I can absolutely say I know it by heart, and best of all - it's actually a fairly terrifying film! It's everything anyone wants from a horror; and I'm glad it's at the top of my list of faves. [honorable mentions: too many to list. check my Letterboxd account here instead: saves us both time]

and so concludes the latest version of a horror challenge. If you're up to it, why not try it out yourself, it's actually a lot harder than it seems! NEW 30 question horror challenge! [PART3]

So on this edition of the NEW 30 question horror challenge; I'm going to get to question #20; this way, I'm a little more than half way, and I don't have this challenge in more than [at most] 6 parts. [that would be too much reading, am I right?] So head to the jump to begin with my answer to question number #13 and on!

———————————————————————————–

# 13 - Your favorite horror comedy

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMcaTb4SKsk5E2VZR0oRxQIEWtCFsLeg1ntJOoLEsoDJQ6cu5HCLWeTIXl1kMKA8GHZeU0tAhp8MEgeRrnYDSI7yavNLOSufia54if0kJFAnOrDOvn3I_LToG7MlThzJN5_rmvBJY6aZE/s1600/zombieland-Atlanta%255B1%255D.jpg

Not only is Zombieland a fun flick, it actually fits most, if not all, of the typical zombie tropes. I really need to re-watch this film; it's been far too long. Let's not forget the real reason we all went to see this film: Emma Stone killing fucking zombies- sexy stuff!

 ———————————————————————————–

# 14 - Your favorite zombie film
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfEUVqVF4GT3QHO_EyuTNLQugw-vl0Qfi5YW2vABitSzQLL3dtXQRAsf6j2kolXphyUavHLpcnSgKFPuredJCxikw3GsJ5WfD8S607KOe5I5_g_jNmvaHObeefbr-UpGr8LpNnmsDXQfE/s1600/day+of+the+dead+1985+movie+pic1.jpg
Day Of The Dead earned my respect from the first time I saw it because of it's visuals, [I mean, see above!] and it's pure imagination. Everything in it is what you want from a zombie film. Fear, violence, and the gore; and is there ever gore in this one.. spectacular work to the effects artists!

———————————————————————————–

 # 15 - Your favorite horror film involving serial killers

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m77l8jt5f81qj7u8ao1_500.gif

I'm usually a slasher flick kinda guy, but when it comes to serial killers in horror films, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS was obviously the first film on my mind. It's one of my favorites of the genre, and the acting [well, Sherry Moon- although hot- I mean, she isn't the greatest actress] made the actors feel like they were the characters they were playing! Shout out to Danny Trejo for being in this movie - fucking love that man; and I don't even know why. [honorable mentions: The Strangers]

———————————————————————————–

 # 16 - Your favorite childhood themed horror film

http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131120205961/villains/images/8/8a/Gremlins-1984-06-g.jpg

When I was younger, I actually didn't like horror films as much as I do now [I even cowered away at Signs; I mean, those were scary aliens!] but if there was one that I liked every time it came on TV [and now have both in my collection!] it was Gremlins! [it counts as horror, right? I mean a Gremlin gets put in a microwave and explodes; that's pretty scarring.]..I still need a Mogwai. and a life.

———————————————————————————–

# 17 - Your favorite horror film remake

http://www.beyondhollywood.com/uploads/2012/09/Jane-Levy-in-Evil-Dead-2013-Movie-Image-21.jpg

Before I start, I just want to say I'm a huge fan of Sam Raimi's original masterpiece The Evil Dead. It always stands out as one of my favorites ever, and I was really nervous when I heard about an Evil Dead remake in the works- however, it was over 9000 [see what I did there?] times better than I expected, and that after credits bit? perfection! This was a good remake- and I need to see more of Fede Alverez's directorial work. Also, Jane Levy is hot. [maybe not as a deadite as seen above though..] there, I said it. Someone had to, right?

———————————————————————————–

# 18 - Your favorite foreign horror film [outside of your country of origin]

http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/imager/b/magnum/3227932/dff4/i-saw-the-devil-1280x720magnum.jpg

I'll admit right now that I haven't seen a lot of foreign horror films [I'm working on it though!] but the ones I have seen, have mainly been Korean. For this question, I have to go to a new favorite I recently discovered, known only as I Saw The Devil. It's a lot to take in; but it's done masterfully - read my review on this masterpiece here. [honorable mention: the original Oldboy. but I feel that it's more of a thriller/crime film, rather than strictly horror: my Oldboy review can be found here.]

———————————————————————————–

# 19 - Your favorite horror film involving the powers of Hell or Satanism

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGeN_FrVjjyyEebQLxw8RFqEr6rBwytmaQIM-uQk-WDG3ujir2rQyX4ExxDrTEKz9ZfWOO1MO78xW0cB52Gv8zxS_Iv0FbNfbwWHvYqV6usMVaO-gM0ARy9DUr-UDtlHIJCYnB5Vq5taiS/s1600/Hellraiser+Cenobites.jpg

Hellraiser is one hell of a film, and it certainly still stands up to competitors today. [well, maybe the first few films. not the dozen unnecessary sequels] Pinhead is one of my favorite horror icons, but I have to side with the Chatterer [as seen on the left in the picture above] for favorite cenobite.

———————————————————————————–

# 20 - Your favorite horror film involving a killer animal

http://www.hdwallpapers.in/walls/jaws_movie_concept-wide.jpg

JAWS. I'm not going to say anything about why I chose this film because everyone [and I mean everyone] has seen it; and if not - you need to hurry the fuck up and get on that. stat. 'GET OUTTA THE WATER!'

———————————————————————————–

And there you have it, part3- completed. By tonight/tomorrow morning [before I go to work at 3:00pm], I'll have part4 and a possible part5 [depending on how many I do in the part4] done. Be sure to 'like' the fan page for Firework Eyes & Haunted Hearts on Facebook; which you can find here, or even follow me on Twitter.
