First look at NEW Chucky! [Curse Of Chucky]

Now I don't know about you guys, but I've never been someone who considers himself a huge Child's Play fan.. Don't get me wrong, they're not terrible movies, it's the fact that they just haven't really ever interested me. [time for a re-watch perhaps?] However, as it turns out though, thanks to some Child's Play fans on instagram, we may just have the first official "first look" at the newest installment of the franchise, which will be known as Curse Of Chucky.

[am I the only one kinda hoping that Tiffany will make a return??]

The picture in question was found on Fiona Dourif's instagram page with the caption "It's my head on a soundtrack!!" Looking at the picture, it seems to be the movie's CD soundtrack, with it's cover being the movie poster, with Fiona tied to a chair- with none other than our favorite killer doll sitting on her lap!  In case you didn't know, Fiona Dourif is the daughter of Brad Dourif, who was the voice of Chucky in the original films. Curse Of Chucky is in post production at the moment with a rumored release date sometime in October. [probably Halloween- as with most horror films; Does Chucky still count as horror?] Below, I have included the "first look" of the movie, which happens to be a CD soundtrack, but it'll have to do until we get more.

curse of chucky First Look: Wanna See Ol Chuckster In Curse of Chucky?!

The plot has also been released, and it seems that Fiona herself will star in the film; which kind of fucking cool considering her father is reprising his role as none other than the Chucky himself! The plotline of Curse Of Chucky is as follows [below]

“Nica [Fiona Dourif] is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb [Danielle Bisutti] arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky [voiced again by Brad Dourif] that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn't know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.“

The End Begins; Official Trailer For Season 8 Of Dexter

NOTE; Spoliers may or may not be in the post;

Other than Six Feet Under being my favorite show; I stand that my 2nd favorite lies with Dexter. It's really one of the only TV shows that made me want to read the books that the series is based off of. [as a warning however; the books came first, and only the first- of five- book is the same as season 1] I also own all 7 seasons on DVD, and although I haven't officially jumped into season7, I know what happens [due to impatience, and reading ahead..whoops!] at the end. With season8 being the final season, I know that I'm going to feel bittersweet; I hate to see the series end, but I'm glad that the director/producers aren't dragging it out.

That's what I liked so much about Six Feet Under.. it was beautiful in every aspect, and after 5 seasons, they finished it off in the best way possible. With Dexter ending next year [after this final season] I can finally say that my 2 favorite shows have come to a close. I also feel that it should finish in an almost bittersweet way, because as we all know, Dexter is "America's Favorite Serial Killer"; therefore, I feel that it shouldn't end with something like he gets blown to smithereens, but also, maybe not end with everyone holding hands, skipping down the road. I mean, after all- the guy is a fucking serial killer for crying out loud- and even if he's a fantastic character, he kind of has it coming to him.. [he's almost/has been caught how many times now?! only to kill off the person who saw him/they leave Miami..]

The point I'm trying to reach here is that one of my favorite shows is about to start it's final season, and I'm not sure how I feel; none the less.. it's a necessary step, because I don't need them dragging this show out, and bleeding it dry [no puns intended there..]. Below, I have posted the official trailer for season 8 as posted by SHOWTIME, and if you haven't seen the other seasons [especially 6 & 7] you may be confused; and if you have, knock yourself out- it's looking bloody perfect! [I'm pretty sure I'm done with the puns now]

TONS Of Exciting Things- Coming Soon !

So I'm aware I haven't posted for about 3 weeks, but this is primarily due to more important things, such as work, [this is my 2nd day off since Iron Man 3 came out] or [even more recently] packing.. when I say packing, I don't mean for a day trip out to the beach [it is certainly nice out now that Summer is in full swing], or going away for a weekend. What I mean is, it turns out, Stephanie and I got the apartment we were looking at !! So therefore, I may not be posting for awhile into June, etc until we get internet, and get things running [this is a heads up]. Also, in other news, My [future] Brother-In-Law, [Stephanie's Brother] recently had his first child/son, making me an uncle ! [welcome to the world Kaiden!] But onto the real stuff you're here for, there's a bunch of new films, a few new comic book adaptations, and [of course..] even more sequels coming our way; so let's take a look at these..

Number 1- Marvel's Vampire Hunter Blade has a [reboot] script in the works;

FINALLY! and yes, you did read that right.. Blade is getting a reboot! Although we already have had three fairly decent Blade films already, [including my personal favorite "Blade Trinity"] it seems that the screenrights have returned to Marvel, meaning that they are going to [re]make the film[s]; and hopefully, it'll look fantastic. [especially now that Marvel has ownership, and with all the technology today- we can pull off what they couldn't in '98]

Number 2- Cabin Fever is getting not TWO but instead THREE new sequels..

Remember back when the first Cabin Fever came out, and it was one of those horror movies you actually enjoyed watching? watching everyone get all bloodied up and mutilated, and yet- it had some kind of magic that made it hard to look away? I remember that; it was a good time- it was one of those movies, that brings a smile to a horror fans face.. now if you were to flash forward 7 years from when the first one came out [2002] we got a sequel called "Cabin Fever 2; Spring Fever". [which I haven't seen- it looked bland, and ever so boring..feel free to call me out otherwise] You'd assume this would be enough to push things along, but it's been reported that we're getting not two, but three more "Cabin Fever" films.The only ones that are known are Cabin Fever; Patient Zero and another by the name of Cabin Fever; Outbreak.

Number 3- Godzilla is getting a remake..again?

This one is kind of hard to mention a lot about since not much is known as of yet; however it's actually a reboot of the 1954 Godzilla film. I am excited however, because it's being filmed in British Columbia.. although I'm in Ontario, it's the little things, like being filmed in Canada that make me happy. What makes this even more exciting is knowing big name actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson [Kick-Ass] and Bryan Cranston [Breaking Bad] are attached to the film- so it's going to have to be pretty damn good with this line up!

So, tell me; are you as excited as I am for some of these films? Or am I just an over obsessed fan? Be sure to let me know on the fan page for this blog on Facebook; which you can find here, or even follow me on Twitter. [visit my profile here] If you have a Tumblr, be sure to follow me here or my more horror explicit Tumblr here [please be aware, that my second Tumblr page has inappropriate content for readers/viewers under 18] Have a suggestion for a new post/movie review? Send me your ideas and/or links anywhere mentioned above. Until my next post though, CHEERS.
